What do I want to be remember for?

This is an important question, one important question. My answer is four-fold:

1. My love for God, for His word and my obedience to His word.

I cannot boast about my love for God, but I can love Him because he first loved me. Nothing in my hand I bring, simply to the cross I cling.

2. My love for my family, my wife and children

3. My love for brothers and sisters in the Lord

4. My love for other people

These I would say are the four things I want to be remembered for.

Will I be remembered really? I doubt I will. Maybe for some time but not for a long time.

In the next 150 years, even my youngest child will be in very old age, if not passed on already (from old age I pray).

Many generations have come before us, many will come after us. It is important to take it to heart that in this world we are passing by.

With the brevity of life at hand, then I need to live carefully and not carelessly – making the most of every opportunity, redeeming time. Time waits for no king.

To be continued…
